♥   earliest memories

My first favorite books were The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, The Witches by Roald Dahl, and The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis. These were mid elementary school days, 4th-6th grades, and I was in love with stories. These books transported me to lovely places and mysteries that I cherish to this day. I have many many many books now, and I still love my Ellen Raskin, Roald Dahl, and CS Lewis collections.

Upon discovering Ellen Raskin's other books, I quickly bought them on ebay, even her children's picture books are wonderful. And her other novels, Figgs & Phantoms, The Mysterious Disappearance of Leon (I Mean Noel), The Tattooed Potato and Other Clues are just as great. I own the Ellen Raskin fanlisting and fanlistings for her books as well. I just really love her stories.

Roald Dahl's The Witches was such a great and imaginative story that I loved so very much in the fifth grade. I must have read this book a dozen times and I never tire of it. I love many other Dahl books as well, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory/Great Glass Elevator, but The Witches is my favorite.

CS Lewis took me to a magical place that childhood can only create. I loved the Narnia books. They were so amazingly beautiful and adventurous. It was the most wonderful escape I had :)
