♥   on writing by stephen king

(back)

Honestly, I'd rather read fiction by Stephen King, this is why I didn't read "On Writing" for a long time after I had received it as a gift... But I did really enjoy it. I really loved learning about his childhood, past experiences, and seeing what shaped him as a writer. And I have a dream to write as well, and I was fascinated to learn that there were a lot of similarities between us in writing.

I was glad for the insight, and the mechanics about writing. I could have done without the "bad books/bad writers" examples, because I happen to love one bad book he had mentioned, (Flowers in the Attic). But other than that, this book was really enjoyable. I like to know the backstory of a writer, and especially a favorite writer.
